An important participation of athletes from our region took place at the last World Master Athletics Championship in Malaga, Spain.
847 registered athletes from 15 affiliated countries (see list), put the name of our region and specially their country name, high on the medal count. Special congratulations to the following athletes who broke world records: Charles Allie (USA, M70 400m), Karla Del Grande (Canada, W65, 100m, 200m), Carol LaFayette-Boyd (Canada, W75, 200m, high jump) and Ted Rowan (Canada, M85 Decathlon). In the same way, a congratulations to the US relay team consisting of Sandy Triolo, Adriene Allen, Kathleen Shook and Joy Upshaw who set a record in the W55 4x100m category of 54.05 and the US W80 team. composed by Rose Green, Jeanne Daprano, Carolyn Langanwalter and Lynne Hurrell who set a W55 4x400m record of 7: 59.14.
